Harley Davisons in
Normandy
Matt Limb Battlefield Tours Limited recently had the great pleasure of taking a group of Harley Davison Motorcycle owners to
France
and conducted a dedicated battlefield tour of the
Normandy
campaign of World War Two
The group were the Hatters Chapter, a Harley Owners Group based around the
Manchester
area of the
UK
, who wanted to do 'something different' on one their regular motorcycle rides. 'Having been to Normandy before the idea of taking our motorcycles appealed to the group' said
Paul Pinchard
of the Hatters Harley owners group. 'We wanted to do something different, and a ride to France to look at what our relatives went through on D-Day was our plan'.
The tour involved fifteen motorcycles arriving on the over night ferry to conduct a tour looking at the events of 6 June 1944, and the coming months. The battlefield tour finished with a short remembrance, and the laying of a poppy wreath, on the grave of a relative who died during the
Normandy
campaign.
